as the DC CARTOON CHARACTER THE GREEN LANTERN caught me by surprise I must admit .With all the talk of him as DEADPOOL I figured he would have enough of the super hero thing but it seems that DEADPOOL May be some way off ,hence the reason for the role. Having said this he did such a greet job in the DEADPOOL role, I believe this talented man will do the same in this role .Directed by MARTIN CAMPBELL. as the story goes a man is granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping peace within the universe. This will be interesting i wonder who else will be cast in the movie. Will DEADPOOL get made then .

Cast annoucements are Peter Sarsgaard to play Dr Hector Hammond a man who has been transformed by a meteor rock and grants hims many powers with which he uses for evil of course.

Also Blake Lively to play carol Ferris in this much aticipated movie.

Mark Strong ( of sherlock holms and Kick Ass) to take on the role of Sinestro.

Talking about the movie martin campbell had this to

say that
He admits it will be a big challenge in bringing to life a hero trained on another world to wield a ring of great power and join an intergalactic police corps.Campbell said: "It's daunting. Just the process, something like 1,300 visual effects shots, it's mind-blowing, quite honestly."Campbell explained that the amount of FX work was due to the Green Lantern's powers generated through his mystical ring.And he hopes the end result will be a type of superhero we haven't seen on screen before: "He's the only superhero to my knowledge who regularly goes to another planet. Superman and Batman were essentially locked into a particular city. The Lantern isn't so Earthbound." Taling to MTV recently Ryan reynolds had this to say about the green lantern movie
I've known about Green Lantern my whole life, but I've never really it before. I fell in love with the character when I met with [director] Martin Campbell. When I sat down with him, I really got what it is that this guy is all about. When you have a guy like Martin Campbell, part of his charm is that he has ba--s of titanium, and the other part is that he's slightly crazy, and you have to be to take on something with the scope of Green Lantern. He's less of the director and more of a general. He just really knows strategies, he knows the intricacies, and his attention to detail! It's infectious. I sat down with him, and I could not even believe what he was saying. When I went to the meeting, I was entirely cynical. I thought, "What the hell, I'll see what they have to say," and I left the room with a completely different perspective.
