Julie Dexter is a local lass from the Handsworth Birmingham west midlands the Uk, that deserves much praise, yet most of her music goes unnoticed here in the UK accept with the soul circles. She`s an accomplished writer and is classically trained when you listen to her music you can hear all sorts of vibes and influences coming through it in such wonderful tones that is hard to understand why someone with this much talent isn’t  up there with some of the bigger stars today( this i believe will changesoon). She released her first single on DUNE RECORDS in 1997 of which was JAZZ like and very well laid out I might add jazz and soul people alike will like this set, check out the cover of LOOSE ENDS single GONNA MAKE YOU MINE cover. If like myself you like COURTNEY PINE then if you saw him in concert around this time there was a fare chance you saw JULIE DEXTER and like me was blown away. This training would lead to JULIE DEXTER finally releasing an EP entitled PEACE OF MIND of which she bravely released on her own label KETCH A VIBE.In2002 JULIE DEXTER released DEXTERITY to rave reviews the west midlands lass  was  getting  the praise that she deserved. Filled with thoughtful and positive yet provoking lyrics and jazz come soul vibe many would label her as neo soul and many a fan was won over by her style of music .Me being one of them, Three years later she was back again with the beautiful album CONSCIOUS again this album one many of praise from those in the soul establishment especially in the USA.I f you have never heard of JULIE DEXTER now is the time to get on board because this lady is one diva to keep your eyes on, my only regret is that I never got around to uploading this to my webpage as with some of the other notes I have written I like to make sure everything is ok and sometimes the brain cells just plain forget .JULIE DEXTER is an exceptional talent that we should be proud to have coming out of these shores one that could be around for a long time.
